MACCABI USA ANNOUNCES THE OPEN AND MASTERS HALF MARATHON TEAMS FOR THE 15TH EUROPEAN MACCABI GAMES

Philadelphia, PA, May 20, 2019 – Maccabi USA Half Marathon Chair Melissa Perlman is pleased to announce the Open and Masters Half Marathon Teams for the 15th European Maccabi Games which will take place July 28-August 7, 2019 in Budapest, Hungary. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 200+ athletes who will join the other 2,000 Jewish athletes from 29 countries, participating in 22 different sports.

The Open athletes are Justin Haber of Boca Raton, FL; Rebekah Mills of Wyoming, DE; Leah Rosenfeld of Flagstaff, AZ; and Emily Schmick of Arvada, CO. Justin Haber is a member of the University of South Florida Cross Country Team; Rebekah Millls was a member of the 2016-2019 Columbia University Cross Country and Track Teams; Leah Rosenfeld is a professional athlete for Under Armour; and the 15th European Maccabi Games will be the first time that Emily Schmick will compete as a representative of Maccabi USA

The Masters athletes are Adam Goldstein of Coral Gables, FL and Melissa Perlman of Delray Beach, FL. Adam Goldstein competes in Masters Track and Melissa Perlman is a recent 3:00 finisher in the Boston Marathon.

The European Games are a high-level athletic competition for Jewish athletes all over the world aimed at connecting Jews from the Diaspora. They are hosted by the European Maccabi Confederation and conducted in cooperation with Maccabi World Union. They are held every four years, two years after the Maccabiah is held.
