In the NBA, Schayes was a 12 time all star and was a champion in 1955 with the Syracuse Nationals, a team that later became the Philadelphia 76ers. Today marks Yom HaZikaron laShoah ve-laG'vurah("Ho Today marks Yom HaZikaron laShoah ve-laG'vurah("Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day") Israel's day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jewish men, women, and children who perished in the Holocaust. It is our responsibility to honor their memory and fight antisemitism in their names.
In commemoration of the day we invite you to join the Museum of Jewish Heritage on Sunday, April 11 at 2 PM EDT for a program featuring music, remarks from Holocaust survivors, young people, and public figures, and a candle-lighting ceremony. Together, we will honor the memory of those who perished at the hands of evil and pay tribute to those who survived and have made a better world for us all.
