Ronald first got involved with the Maccabi Movement as an athlete in Bogotá, Colombia at the age of 12, playing Basketball and Volleyball. He quickly became a member of the young leadership and was instrumental in creating the Colombia Maccabi Games which brought together young Jewish athletes from the four major cities of Colombia annually to compete and share their common culture and heritage.

While on his honeymoon in Israel in 1973 with his bride Minna, they learned of the World Maccabiah Games and attended the Opening Ceremony. The experience changed Ronald’s life and he returned to Colombia to share the knowledge of the international movement with his fellow volunteers at Maccabi Colombia. They soon became part of CLAM and Ronald got involved with its regional leadership and the international leadership of MWU.

Since 1976 he has been an active participant in the annual Plenum and Congress of MWU and was elected the Co-chairman of its Financial Committee in 1990. He served as President from 1994 – 2000 and continues to play an active role in the Executive leadership of both MWU and CLAM.

Ronald was born in New York, NY and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. After receiving an Industrial Economist degree in 1972 from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, he pursued further studies with the Colombia Ministry of Economic Development. Ronald is currently the President of Grupo Cauchosol which encompasses 11 companies. He has received many prestigious awards, including two awarded by the Government and President of the Republic of Colombia: Medal of Merit “Exporter” and Medal of Merit “Industrialist.”

Ronald and Minna currently reside in Southern Florida along with their children and grandchildren.
