Lou is an accomplished Judo athlete who started practicing his sport at the age of 12 and has never looked back.  He has been a competitor, coach and manager at multiple international competitions including the 2000 Olympics.  Besides his multiple experiences at the Maccabiah Games, Lou has also been the Team Manager at other International Maccabi Games in Europe, South American and Australia.

Lou is particularly proud of getting his children – Tina, Sam, Adam and Stephanie – involved with Maccabi USA.  Whether as accomplished athletes, managers or coaches, his children share his love for sports and Judaism, combining them to help change lives.

Recently retired from his 30+ year career as a Philadelphia school teacher, Lou has more time to be involved with his Judo Club and his leadership roles at Maccabi USA.  He has dedicated his life to his love of his family and friends, the sport of judo, volunteerism, mentoring and living out his dreams.  Lou and his wife Kinfar reside in Philadelphia, PA.
