MACCABI USA ANNOUNCES THE OPEN MEN’S WRESTLING TEAM FOR THE 20TH WORLD MACCABIAH GAMES

Philadelphia, PA, May 24, 2017 – The Maccabi USA Wrestling Co-Chairs, David Pruzansky and Stewart Pruzansky, along with Head Coach Chris Feder and Assistant Coach Robinson Prebish are pleased to announce the Open Men’s Wrestling Team for the 20th World Maccabiah Games, which will take place July 4-18, 2017 in Israel. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 1,100+ athletes who will be part of the 10,000 Jewish athletes from 80 countries, participating in 43 different sports.

Head Coach Feder is the Head Wrestling Coach at Marin Catholic High School, the Brawlers Wrestling Club in Marin County, CA, and the Executive Director of Beat the Streets San Francisco. Assistant Coach Prebish is the Assistant Coach at St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, VA and the Virginia Wrestling Association Media Director. The athletes are Nate Engel of Annapolis, MD, Missouri Valley College (’09); Matt Finesilver of Greenwood, CO, Duke University; Mitchell Finesilver of Greenwood, CO, Duke University; Sage Heller of Riverwood, IL, Hofstra University; Mike Kosoy of Boca Raton, FL, North Carolina State University (’16); Parker Kropman of Rochester, NY, State University of New York-Binghamton; Donald McNeil of Plainville, MA, Rider University (’15); Jack Mutchnik of Washington, DC, American University; Bo Schlosser of Franktown, CO; Mosha Schwartz of Franktown, CO, Wyoming Seminary; Zach Sherman of Plantation, FL, Blair Academy; and Gordon Wolf of Lawrenceville, NJ, Lehigh University.

Since 1932, over 62,000 athletes have participated in the Maccabiah Games, in a celebration of Jewish Strength and Solidarity. Team USA’s success is not only measured by the medals won, but by the impact that the Maccabiah experience had on their lives as well as the friendships they formed.

MACCABI USA IS SEEKING JEWISH WRESTLERS FOR THE 20TH WORLD MACCABIAH GAMES

Philadelphia, PA, February 15, 2017 – Maccabi USA is seeking qualified Jewish male wrestlers, ages 18-35, to represent Team USA at the 20th World Maccabiah Games in Israel, July 4-18, 2017. Open Wrestlers will be part of the overall 1,100+ member Team USA at the 2017 World Maccabiah Games, comprised of 10,000 athletes, from 80 countries, participating in 43 sports.

The Maccabi USA Team Trials will be held on April 2, 2017 in Philadelphia, PA. The event is organized by Maccabi USA Wrestling Co-Chairmen, David Pruzansky from Wayne, NJ and Stuart Pruzansky from Clifton, NJ. The cost of the trials per person is $100.00 which will include a commemorative t-shirt.

Chris Feder of San Rafael, CA, is the Head Coach for the USA Open Wrestling Team. He is the Head Coach for the wrestling team Marin Catholic High School, the Brawlers Wrestling Club in Marin County, CA, and the Executive Director of Beat the Streets San Francisco. Feder competed in the 1969 and 1989 Maccabiah Games. Robinson Prebish of Richmond, VA, is the Assistant Coach for the USA Open Wrestling Team. He is the Assistant Coach at St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, VA and the Virginia Wrestling Association Media Director. Prebish competed in the 1989 and 1993 Maccabiah Games.

“There is no feeling that compares to walking out on the mat, representing Team USA at the World Maccabiah Games. I have experienced it more than once and the sense of pride you feel is incredible” said Feder. “We look forward to sharing that experience with the athletes that make the Open Men’s Wrestling Team for the 20th World Maccabiah Games.”

The World Maccabiah Games are more than an international sporting competition; they are a celebration of Jewish culture, unity and pride. ISRAEL CONNECT, Maccabi USA’s unique cultural and educational program, takes place for seven days prior to the start of the Games. All Juniors, Youth, Open, and Paralympic athletes must participate in the program, where they have the opportunity to tour historical and religious sites, take part in cultural identity seminars and train with their teams, all while developing lifelong relationships.

ROBINSON PREBISH NAMED ASSISTANT COACH FOR MACCABI USA’S OPEN MEN’S WRESTLING TEAM

Philadelphia, PA, November 29, 2016 – Chris Feder, Head Coach for Team USA’s Open Men’s Wrestling for the 20th World Maccabiah Games USA Organizing Committee, is pleased to announce the appointment of Robinson Prebish as Assistant Coach for Team USA’s Open Men’s Wrestling at the Maccabiah Games. Prebish is currently the Assistant Wrestling Coach at St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, VA and Virginia Wrestling Association Media Director.

“I am very excited to be returning to Israel after all these years. I was extremely fortunate to compete in two Maccabiah Games as an athlete, so to go back as a coach is incredible,” Prebish said. “This is going to be an exciting opportunity for all Jewish wrestlers, so you definitely want to sign up and try out.”

Maccabi USA is seeking qualified Jewish athletes to represent Team USA in Wrestling at the 20th World Maccabiah Games in the following division: Open Men (ages 18-35).

The 20th World Maccabiah Games are the world’s third largest international sporting event and will consist of over 10,000 athletes from 80 countries participating in 42 sports.
