  • COSTS:
Each Team USA member (athletes and non-athletes alike) have a Yachad fundraising goal. Yachad is the Hebrew word for "together," and encourages each member of Team USA to contribute and/or raise a minimum amount in support of the Maccabiah, as a shared commitment. In that regard, every dollar donated goes directly to Maccabi USA and is a qualified tax-deductible donation to a non-profit organization. Moreover, the use of the money by Maccabi is unrestricted and may be used for any of our above-described endeavors. Donations are not "credited to or earmarked for" any particular student-athlete or individual, but all donations are tracked only in so far as determining whether Team USA members have met their Yachad. Further, the amount of the fundraising goal is far less than the cost to Maccabi USA of sending a Team member to the Games. No individual will be denied the ability to travel and participate based on the amount of funds raised, however individuals who do not meet their yachad commitment may be asked to personally contribute the balance of funds to the organization. Finally, regardless of amount raised, every student-athlete/Team member is provided for identically at the games. Donations made to Maccabi USA immediately become the sole property of the organization and remain so even if they result from the efforts of an athlete who becomes injured and/or cannot otherwise participate next summer. Together, we will make this the best Maccabiah, ever.
  • The required shared commitment amounts for USA Team members are as follows: Open athlete - $5000; Juniors and Youth athlete - $8000; Masters athlete - $6000 to sponsor an athlete + a registration fee of $2900 (without accommodations) or $4100 (with accommodations), plus the cost of airfare (additional upgraded accommodations options are available for Masters); Coaches - $2500; Accommodations Managers - $2500; Athletic Trainers - $2000; Full-time Physicians- $TBD; Additional Coaches, Managers or Self-funded Staff: $8000. All costs are subject to change.
  • SPORTS:
The United States plans to participate in the following sports.  All sports and age categories listed are tentative as of June 2012, and may be subject to change or cancellation.
