MACCABI USA ANNOUNCES THE MASTERS TABLE TENNIS TEAM FOR THE 20TH WORLD MACCABIAH GAMES

Philadelphia, PA, June 16, 2017 – The Maccabi USA Table Tennis Chair Joel Roodyn is pleased to announce the Masters Table Tennis Team for the 20th World Maccabiah Games, which will take place July 4-18, 2017 in Israel. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 1,100+ athletes who will be part of the 10,000 Jewish athletes from 80 countries, participating in 43 different sports.

“I am thrilled to be part of my third Maccabiah Games representing Team USA competing with a group of phenomenal individuals,” said Roodyn. “We are all looking forward to celebrating our common heritage and our passion for table tennis.”

The athletes are Len Blavatnik of New York, NY; Saadia Eisenberg of Passaic, NJ; Stuart Goldberg of Silver Spring, MD; Steven Horowitz of White Plains, NY; Igor Kirman of New York, NY; Edward Komberg of Los Angeles, CA; Joel Roodyn of New York, NY; Lawrence Summers of Brookline, MA; Stuart Weitzman of New York, NY; and Oren Zeev of Los Altos Hills, CA. Head Coach is Matt Suchy of Brooklyn, NY.

Since 1932, over 62,000 athletes have participated in the Maccabiah Games, in a celebration of Jewish Strength and Solidarity. Team USA’s success is not only measured by the medals won, but by the impact that the Maccabiah experience had on their lives as well as the friendships they formed.
