  • Complete close down of Maccabi in Europe except for Great Britain, Sweden, and Switzerland
  • Strong development of Maccabi in countries in the Middle East, Far East, in Harin, Shanghai, Madagascar, Singapore and India
  • Regular competitions are held in Eretz Yisrael and inter-country competitions with Syria, Lebanon and Egypt
1941
  • Maccabi volunteer drive for enlisting with the British Army in the Middle East
1944
  • First Youth Leadership Seminar for Maccabi Syria-Lebanon in Rehovot
1945

  • Maccabim in the Jewish Brigade help in the re-opening of Maccabi Clubs in Europe (Holland, Belgium and France) and initiate organized Maccabi sports activities in Displaced Persons Camps in the American, British and French Zones in Germany
1946
  • First post-war European Maccabi Conference in Basel
  • Preliminary talks on holding the Third Maccabiah Games in Athens; Leader, Leo Atterman
1948
  • First post-war Maccabi World Union Congress in Tel Aviv (Resolves to hold the next Maccabiah in Israel in 1950)
  • Chaverim Nahum Het, Shalom Zysmann and George Flesch are elected members of the First Knesset (Parliament) of the State of Israel
  • Harry Henshel, Charles Orenstein, Edward Rosenblum and Harold O. Zimman found US Committee Sports for Israel. Later USCSFI is renamed Maccabi USA/Sports for Israel.
  • Establishment of the State of Israel
